Obertauern is a ski resort in Austria. It offers around 100 km of marked pistes served by 26 lifts. The skiable terrain rises from 1630 m at the base to 2313 m at its highest point, a vertical drop of 683 m.

Obertauern’s pistes break down into 61 km of easy (blue) runs, 35 km of intermediate (red) runs, 4 km of difficult (black) runs. With a high share of gentle terrain, it is a forgiving mountain for building confidence.

Beginners and families are well catered for here, with plenty of nursery and blue terrain to progress on.
Season and snow
With a summit around 2313 m, the upper slopes hold snow well through the core winter months. As with any resort, snow cover varies year to year, so it is worth confirming conditions close to your trip.
