Saint Martin de Belleville is a quiet, attractive village that represents an interesting and good-value alternative in the huge 3 Valleys ski area. Less glitzy than Méribel and Courchevel but prettier than its more immediate neighbours Les Menuires and Val Thorens. The wider 3 Valleys, being the world's biggest linked ski area, has skiable terrain to suit every skier and snowboarder imaginable. The terrain above Saint Martin in particular lends itself best to intermediate skiers. The Jerusalem red piste is considered by many to the one of the best in the whole 3 Valleys area, if not the Alps. There are plenty more reds and blues across the sunny slopes above the village, which are also home to some gentle and often-deserted off piste areas- ideal for making your first tracks away from the groomed runs on freeride skis or a snowboard.
