Travel Warning: Skiers travelling over Christmas may face disruptions

Skiers and Snowboarders travelling from UK airport over Christmas, prepare to up your patience.

Have you booked a holiday over the festive period? Unfortunately, the Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union has announced that its Border Force members will be striking from December 23-26 and December 28-31, meaning your travel could be heavily disrupted.

What we know so far:

Major disruptions will occur in the following airports:

  • Heathrow
  • Gatwick
  • Manchester
  • Birmingham
  • Cardiff
  • Glasgow

Currently Stansted is not involved in the chaos, however, stay tuned as circumstances change rapidly.

I’ve booked over the ‘walk-out’ period, what do I do?
Anyone who is planning on traveling during this period, should ensure that they keep up to date with any advice from their airline.

We currently know that 1,000 members will be striking at Border Force, so queues are anticipated to be crazy long. We suggest getting to the airport super early to minimise the stress and problems.

Got lessons booked?
Make sure you’ve got your instructor/school’s number, email and booking ref to stored on your phone should you need to alert should you face any issues!

Take snacks, coffee and maybe a pack of cards and remember that it will all be worth it when you’ve finally made it to your resort!
