Is spring skiing better than winter skiing….?

When most people think of skiing, they envision fresh powder and cold temperatures. But what many don’t realize is that spring skiing can be some of the best skiing of the year. Here are a few reasons why:

1.The weather!
Firstly, the days are longer in spring, meaning more time to ski, lunch and apres. What’s not to like?! The weather is always warmer and sunnier in spring, so you don’t have to worry about getting too cold on the slopes! You’ll be swapping the low-light google lenses for sunnies, and down jackets for t-shirts. Whatever you do, don’t forget to pack the sun cream!

2. A better learning environment
If you’re a beginner, learning in spring time can boost confidence! The snow is softer, making it easier to turn, and there are typically fewer people on the slopes. This makes skiing in spring the perfect time to learn or improve your skills. With less traffic on the slopes, you can take your time and focus on your technique without having to worry about crowds. 3. Less Crowds
If you’ve ever skied during the peak season, you’ve inevitably queued for lifts, waited in endless traffic and struggled to find a table at restaurants. Once the ski season winds down in March, the crowds disappear too. This means you can enjoy the slopes all to yourself, and walk-in to restaurants without a reservation!

4. Ski, Canoe & Bike- all in the same day!
There are so many more activities to do other than just skiing in spring time. The warmer conditions and longer days means bike paths are open, lakes are filled with canoes and bbqs and hiking trails are open to the public.

5. The prices are lower!
As demand for ski trips decreases in spring, so do the prices. You can find some great deals on lodging, lift tickets, and equipment rentals if you plan your trip right.
