Apologies to my beautiful fiancee, but this morning’s off-piste snowboarding in last night’s snowfall was about the best Valentine’s day present I could’ve asked for.

This weekend, however, high pressure will be dominant as the majority of the Alps will enjoy a very sunny Saturday and Sunday – great conditions for piste skiing in the morning, before enjoying a nice long lunch.

Things begin to cloud over on Monday and on Monday night a weather front coming in from the Northwest will bring some snow to the French and Swiss Alps, before moving Eastwards into the Northern Italian and Austrian Alps.

Some high pressure then builds from the West on Wednesday, before another, weaker front looks to move in on Thursday.

We’ll take a quick look at the temperature charts, because this weekend is going to be *scorchio* as that high pressure system brings a warm southwesterly airflow across the Alps.

Temperatures reaching the double digits are very possible in many resorts this weekend.

Zooming in for a closer look at the week’s weather we see a mainly sunny weekend, follow by some low altitude clouds on Monday which lead into some snowfall for Tuesday.

Things clear up a bit on Wednesday, before some more snowfall for the Northern Alps moves in towards the end of the week.

Looking at the icons for the week we see mainly sunny skies this weekend along with some very, very warm temperatures but the weather front coming in on the Jetstream late Monday night will bring some cold air from the North along with it and bring the temperatures back in line with the seasonal averages.

So, finishing off on the accumulated snowfall chart for the next 5 days we see that most of the fresh snow fell last night, setting us up for a lovely weekend.

The new snowfall coming this week will be widespread, but it shouldn’t be too heavy. Most resorts that see snowfall this week should get about 10-30cm in two different waves.

To find out exactly what’s going to happen where you happen to be this week, head over to skibro.com/weather and you’ll find detailed forecasts for 250 resorts across the Alps.

That’s it for me this week ladies and gents, before you go take a second to like our Facebook page so you don’t miss next week’s forecast, and tag some mates who need to see this below.

Until next week, have a great Valentine’s day, and enjoy Half-Term on the slopes!
